Oil City Area School District receives funding for a number of federal entitlement programs. Funds for these programs flow to the district from the federal government through the Pennsylvania Department of Education as formula grants. The district maintains a Federal Programs/Safe and Drug-Free Schools Advisory Committee, which meets several times throughout the school year to discuss and plan the uses of the federal funds the district receives.
